Paying Visits to One's Own Friends and Relatives


1- Imam Jafar Sadiq (A. S.) Paying visits to ones own relatives prolongs the life of a person and prevents poverty and indigence.            (Behar, vol. 74, p. 58)

2- Imam Mohammad Baqer (A. S.) Goodness to parents and paying visits to ones own relatives will ease the counting of resurrection day.           (Behar, vol. 74, p. 86)

3- The Reverent Amir (A. S.) Refresh relationships even though with a salutation.         (Khesal, vol. 2, p. 157)

4- Imam Musa Kazem (A. S.)  If relatives broke off their relationship with you, you should not break off yours with them.           (Mostadrak, vol. 15, p. 253)

5- Imam Jafar Sadiq (A. S.)            ((Safinatol-Behar, vol. 2, p.553))
One who would like, if God to put his spirit at ease, should pay visits to his own relatives and have good behavior to his parents.

6- The Reverent Amir (A. S.)            ((Behar, vol. 74, p. 100))
Be kind to people as you want them to be kind to you, and pay visits to your own relatives in order to have a long life.

7- The Endeared Prophet of Islam (P.B.U.H.)            ((Behar, vol. 74, p. 90))
These three people will not find their way to paradise: the habitual drunkard, the magician (wizard), and the one who has lost contact with his relatives.

Paving visits to one's own relatives is considered to be one of the greatest virtues of noble-minded and honorable people.

12- Imam Jafar Sadegh (A. S.)            ((Osool-e-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 229))
Do visits to your relatives and be kind to your brothers, even with salutation and responds to salutation.

13- Imam Mohammad Bagher (A. S.)            ((Osool-e-Kafi, vol. 4, p. 47))
There are three habits that will be punished by all means before death:
1) injustise to others.
2) Not paying visits to one's own relatives.
3) To take a lying oath which opposes God.

Paying visits to one's own relatives will purify the deed of man and cause the increase of wealth and warding off misforutunes, which will delay death and ease the count on the resurrection day.

19- Imam Jafar Sadegh (A. S.)            ((Tohafol-Oghool, p. 396))
Paying visits to one's own relatives and attention to public affairs and good work will ease the counting of resurrection day and prevents man from commission of sins.

20- Imam Sajjad (A. S.)            ((Tohafol-Ogool, p. 286))
Never associate with the one who does'nt visit his relatives, because God has cursed him in three places in the Quran.

21- The Reverent Amir (A. S.)            ((Fehrest-e-Ghorar, p. 134))
Paying visits to relatives, causes one to become popular with others, and leads to despise of the enemies.

22- The Honorable Prophet of Islam (P.B.U.H.)            ((Jameosaadat, vol. 2, p. 252))
The deeds most detested by the Most High (God) is polytheism, after wards, breaking off relation ships and not recommending the lawful and good deeds, and not forbidding the sinful acts.

23- Imam Jafar Sadegh (A. S.)            ((Osoo1-e-Kafi, vol. 3, p.221 -222))
Paying visits to one's own relatives causes good moral qualities, generosity and donation, purity of hearts and conscience, and it will subsistence (as provided by God) and delay the death of human being.

Refresh paying visits to your own relatives, as you would offer a glass of water to him.

25- Imam Jafar Sadegh (A. S.)            ((Osool-e-Kafi, vol. 3, p. 241))
Respect your elders and strengthen relationships to your own relatives.

When a person has broken off relationship with his family, in fact they have given up one power, but he has lost many powers!

The most indecorous sins is to break off relationships to one's own relatives, and to curse of parents.

28- The Reverent Amir (A. S.)            ((Amali-e.Toosi, vol. 2, p. 94))
Paying visits to one's own relatives would ease the count of tomorrow's resurrection and protects the man from bad deaths.

29- Imam Reza (A. S.)            ((Sahifatoreza, p. 42))
Paying visits to one's own relatives and having good habits would increase the wealth of mankind.

30- Imam Jafar Sadegh (A. S.)            ((Amali-e-Toosi, vol. 2, p. 94))
Paying visits to one's own relatives makes the houses habitable and increases the life of humanity even if its agents could not be competent.

31- Imam Hossein (A. S.)            ((Behar, vol. 74, p. 91))
Anybody who would like to have a long life and make his subsistence expanded, should pay visits to his own relatives.

32- Imam Reza (A. S.)            ((Oyoonol.Akhbar, vol. 1, p. 295))
Respect your elders, have mercy on your children, and make firm your family relationships.

33- Imam Jafar Sadegh (A. S.)            ((Behar, vol. 74, p. 94))
A sin that accelerates death and annihilation of man is breaking off paying visits to one's own relatives.

34- The Honorable Prophet of Islam (P.B.U.H.)            ((Behar, vol. 77, p. 171))
Join the one who ceased ties of relationship with you and act benevolently to the one who did wrong to you.

35- Imam Jafar Sadegh (A. S.)            ((Osool-e-Kafi, vol. 4, p. 48))
If anybody among your relatives broke off ties of relationship with you; you should not break off your ties with him.

When people break off relationships to their own relatives, the wealth and riches will fall into the hands of the wicked.

37- The Reverent Amir (A. 5.)            ((Fehrest-e-Ghorar, p. 203))
By paying visits to your own relatives and giving alms, clean your sins and gain the favour of your lord.

38- The Honorable Prophet of Islam (P.B.U.H.)            ((Ashshehab fel-Hekame-Va1-Adab, p. 8))
One that is paving relationships to his relatives and then breaks off it, God will break off relation with him.

39- The Honorable Prophet of Islam (P.B.U.H.)            ((Safinatol-Behar, vol. 1, p. 514))
The rewards of giving alms, lending, and visiting to religious brothers are ten, eighteen and twenty good acts respectively, paying visits to one's own relatives is rewarded equivalent to twenty four good acts.

Anyone who goes for paying visits to his own relatives with his and wealth, God will grant him the reward of one hundred martyrs.
